To evaluate a website, you need to know what determines its performance, usability and visibility.

It is because several criteria are at play that there are just as many specific web audits: SEO audit, competition analysis, ergonomic audit or keyword analysis.



Evaluation grid
Here is a small grid for a first site evaluation:

SEO
Control your positions on the keywords on which you want to appear

Are your pages indexed by Google?

Has the site been updated regularly?

Have the SEO tags been correctly completed?

Technical
Is the loading time of the site fast?

Is the site compatible with the most used browser versions?

Are links, images and forms working properly?

Ergonomics
Is the navigation clear, intuitive, and arranged in the same place on all pages of the site?

Does the site have contact and reinsurance pages? (By the way, who am I, legal notice, general conditions of sale ...)

Competition
Check how often your competitors' sites are updated

Control the quality and volume of content on your competitors' sites



Note on competitors
Your competitors are not always the ones you think about. To identify your competitors, type one of your desired keywords in Google. Your competitors are the sites that appear in the first results!

If these competitors seem too difficult to surpass you, you can do a keyword analysis. The purpose of keyword analysis is to identify variations in your keywords (synonyms, spellings, etc.) with the best low / high demand ratio.
